How I clean my Make-up Brushes...

1. Gather dirty brushes.

2. Prepare any shampoo.
I use shampoo because it is mild and it smells good.
Extra Virgin coconut oil is not
necessary, but I use it to make the brush hairs soft and with a silky finish.

3. Pour into a container an ample amount of
shampoo and 2 tiny drops of
extra virgin coconut oil, mix it then add water.

4. Soak the dirty brushes into the mixture.

5. Wash the brush strands with your hands until clean.

6. Rinse properly with clean water
until there are no more bubbles.

7. Let the brushes dry.

I don't have a fixed schedule on when to wash my make-up brushes.  I clean them when I feel that they need to be washed. It is advisable to always wash your brushes especially if you have very sensitive skin.

Gluta-C Face and Body Powder

This is a product of Ardent.  I’ve been using Gluta-C Face and Body Powder for 2 months now and I believe it’s enough time to write a product review.  

I am not really obsessed with whitening products but I am trying out some that claims they have effective whitening results.  I’ve tried whitening soap, lotion, facial cream, and even pressed powder.  This is the first time I came upon a whitening Face and Body loose powder.  So Ardent is coming up with different kinds of whitening products.  

I have been using their Gluta-C Whitening Toner and their Gluta-C Facial Cream for a long time already.  So far I like their products because they are non-irritating and do not give me breakouts. I got really excited when I saw this Gluta-C Face and Body loose powder.

It claims that it has 4x Skin Whitening Effect because it has a Kojic Plus whitening system.

Aside from that it further claims that it has:

  Ø  Oil Control & Anti-Acne formula

  Ø  Matte Finish

  Ø  Sunscreen

Here’s my review:

I cannot really say that it gave 4x skin whitening effect because my facial complexion is still the same from the time that I started using it.  It probably gave a lightening effect but not super whitening effect.  Although, it gave my face a kind of glow that wasn’t there before.

That it has oil control – YES! I agree with that.  So my skin type is a combination of dry and oil skin which usually becomes oily at the middle of the day.  Whenever I use this, it has longer Mattefying look.  It still becomes oily though but what I like is that it prolongs the freshness of my face.

I believe that since it has an oil control formula, it comes with a Matte Finish.

I have no problems with Acne so I cannot make a review on that.

What I also like about this powder is that it has a sunscreen protection so it is safe to use daily.

All Gluta-C products has kojic acid, glutathione and Vitamin C that ensure greater whitening effect.  There are skin types that are really compatible with these ingredients so they see effective results in just a few days.

Will I continue to use Gluta-C Face and Body Powder? Yes, I will. 

Since Ardent has a set of whitening products, I think it would be more effective if you use all their products from the Gluta-C whitening soap, Gluta-C facial toner, Gluta-C whitening cream, and Gluta-C whitening face and body powder.

pixi + Itsjudytime palettes

I have both palettes! ItsEyeTime Eyeshadow Palette and ItsLipTime Lip Colour Palette.  It’s not easy owning one when you are from Cebu but the best way is to order online.  That was what I did.  I ordered the palettes from www.beautymnl.com.  I don’t know if they are available now but moments after I ordered the Eyeshadow Palette was marked sold-out.  

When I ordered the palettes, I was given a free pixi+petra lip balm and a Creamsilk Conditioner.  Those are sweet favors!

I saw a lot of different reviews in youtube about these palettes so I made sure I got my own.

For a make-up beginner like me, I believe the palettes are good but too expensive.  The Eyeshadow Palette has the basic shades that you need for an everyday look though.  It has 12 neutral shades that are pigmented and easy to use on the eyelids.

The Lip Colour Palette also has 12 neutral colors but you need to do a lot of layering before getting the result.  They are very light on the lips but the colors are almost the same.

The packaging is nice since it comes with a clear cover so you can see the shades and the colors right away.  There is a free detached mirror because the palettes are designed to be on the go.

I find the palettes good but not highly recommendable.  If you really want to purchase them, you may do so.  If you are in the Philippines, purchasing may be done online.

Make-up Tools and Brushes Online Purchase

I honestly am in love with make-ups!  A newbie, a beginner, or whatever you call it, that is who I am now.  I have no idea what to do but I am so excited to have my own make-up collection. 

Aside from the make-up, the brushes are very important tools!  I found this Facebook fan page that sells make-up tools.  The good thing is they do meet-ups since they are from my place, in Cebu Philippines.  It was really fast, I ordered one night and got the brushes the night after.

What I like about The Fashion Loft is their promptness and punctuality.  And the owner, I don’t know if I can mention her name, but anyway, she is very friendly and polite.  It was a quick meet-up but it was a good one.  They have other products that you can view on their Facebook fan page.

I really don’t know if I can do a blog on the different usage of each brush, as you can see, I am still a beginner.  But if you do want to learn how to use them, please watch youtube videos about them.  I saw videos of Coffee and Sparkles by: Mimi and one of Kathleen Lights.  They are very informative.  I don’t personally know them, but I am a follower of their social media accounts.  Both women are so pretty and so famous in youtube.

Kojic and Gluthathione Soap Review

I’ve been using this brand for more than two years now. It’s KSA Magic.  But I only started using Kojic – Gluta Soap around middle of last year since it is a new product of KSA Magic.  Before, I only used KSA Magic’s Kojic Soap. 

I love this brand because I feel that they are selling a raw product which means that it has more kojic acid formula in it.  And as you can see on the picture, the ingredients are: Virgin Coconut oil, Kojic Acid, Glutathione Extract, Vitamin C, and Glycerin.  It can only be bought at Watson’s. I tried searching it in other stores and groceries, but they don’t have it.

This product that I am now featuring, the Kojic – Gluta Soap is a combination of Kojic Acid and Glutathione that claims to give a faster whitening result. 

But first, let’s talk about each formula separately.  Kojic is known to get rid of acne or pimple scars, it can also aid in acne or pimple problems.  Aside from that, it can take away dark spots and other forms of skin blemishes.  It has a whitening effect since it exfoliates dead skin cells and it gives the skin a brand new look.

Glutathione is widely known for its skin whitening feature and just like Kojic Acid, it helps whitens dark spots.  The soap gives a lightening effect, but the most effective way of achieving a whiter glowing skin is by taking glutathione in as a vitamin, which is available in drugstores. 

Now, combining both would probably give an outstanding result.  Well, personally, I didn’t get the expected result but I am sticking to this product because it fits my skin type.  I have a dry scaly skin on the arms and on the legs and I need a soap that helps to exfoliate the dead skin cells.  My skin is smoother and softer as compared before, but as to the whitening effect: I am lighter now, but not the celebrity-skin effect that I wanted.

Yes I love this product as of now, I’m still using it for my face and my entire body.  And you may wanna try it, it is less than Php 200.00 at any Watson’s store.

How to Spot a Fake Wunder Brow from an Original

I am a follower of the Facebook page of WunderBrow and I came across this article that they posted on how to spot a fake WunderBrow Gel from an original.  I felt that I have to share this to you guys so you would know.

The pictures that I will show are taken from their Facebook page.  It is important to know which ones are fake and which ones are original because, they're out on the market and you wouldn't know that what you have isn't genuine, it might compromise the product and give a bad name to it.

I have been seeing videos of make-up bloggers and experts on their reviews of the WunderBrow products, and they all agree that the products are amazing especially the foundation and the brow gel.  Well, I haven't tried any one of the products yet, but I will soon.  They're quite expensive, so I'm just waiting for the right time and need to set aside a budget for that.

Anyhow, here is how to spot a fake WunderBrow Gel from an original.

Double Lasting Foundation Etude House

I tried on Etude's Double Lasting Liquid Foundation.  It comes in liquid form and it stays on your face for 24 hours.  It has SPF 34 so it's safe to wear it outside when it is sunny.  It is very light it doesn't feel like you are wearing a liquid foundation.  

The first time I put this on was during my graduation day.  We had our graduation ceremony inside the school gym.  It has no airconditioner and there were around 1,500 people who were present.  Can you imagine how hot it was?  Oh, I live in a tropical country, and it is sunny almost everyday.  We had to go through the agonizing 4 hours ceremony and I imagined that my make-up would have melted even in the middle of it.  

But, amazingly!  My foundation stayed on and didn't melt even I was sweating the whole time.  My make-up lasted up until we had our lunch gathering, for a total of 6 hours.

Now, I'm using it every day, and Etude's liquid foundation is a confident booster.

My rating for Etude's Double Lasting liquid foundation is perfect 10!  It is not itchy, it is so light, it is perfect for my skin type, it blended well and most of all, it lasted for a long time.

I chose Vanilla because I'm fair but there are a lot of other tones available.  My friend got Sands, a tone which is a little bit darker than my shade.

Shopping for Make-ups!

Shopping for make-ups is always fun and enjoyable! Especially if the stores are on sale.  I really wanted to try on a liquid foundation but I have to choose the best since I don't want my face to end up slimy and gross, or worst, some parts erased because of my sweat.

Well, my skin type is dry to normal so it is not hard to find one that matches my skin type.


I also wanted to have a loose powder and a blush-on to match my foundation.  My friend, who is also a make-up lover herself went with me to Etude House and to Metro Ayala.

Guess what? I found everything I needed!  In my next posts, I will be putting a review on each of the items I bought.

Etude Eyebrow Pencil

I like the Etude Eyebrow Pencil so much!  When I first saw this Eyebrow Pencil, I was interested with the pencil tip because it is rectangular in shape.  The previous ones I had were those with pointed tip, like the normal pencils.  I bought Etude Eyebrow Pencil because a friend recommended it and she’s right.  Now it has become one of my favorite brands.

I use shade no. 5 because it matches the color of my hair.  One tip in choosing eyebrow color is to find one that has the same color or is one shade darker than your hair.  The good thing about Etude Eyebrow pencil is that it defines your eye brows by filling the gaps in between.   It takes practice to achieve the perfect eyebrow shape.  I learned to draw mine by looking at youtube video tutorials on how to draw eyebrows.

For Etude Eyebrow Pencil, I give it a thumbs-up!

The Powder Mattes by Maybelline

I am a matte lover ever since I learned how to put on make-ups.  When I heard about The Powder Mattes, I had to get one, no not just one, but two!  I got them on sale and one is only at Php 199.00.  I love pink and red so I got the shades Pink Shot and Red-dy Red.

Do I love The Powder Mattes? Oh! I love them.  They're light and smooth.  They don't leave your lips feeling dry and heavy...yes their advertisement is true..the matte lipsticks that I had were dry that I had to put on a lip balm a few minutes before I put on the lipstick.

This one is just perfect for me.
